Solar Spectrum Number 3

Submissions now being accepted…

Following the successful release of our first edition in January 2001,
and the launch of our second issue in June 2002,
Spaced Out is now collecting contributions for the third edition of our annual anthology.

“Solar Spectrum” - the anthology of science fiction material
for gays, lesbians, bisexual, transgender and intersex readers.

This publication is a “first” for Australia and possibly the world -
an annual collection of our stories, poetry, artwork and articles.

We are now collecting submissions for our third issue, due for publication early in 2003.

Final submissions should be received by the end of December 2002.
(Please note: these dates are to be confirmed.)

Guidelines remain the same as our successful previous issues - -
General aims are to promote enjoyment of science fiction and to increase the public profile of queer issues in some way
Intended for adults but must be “G rated”, that is, suitable for general readership in order to avoid potential censorship problems
Submissions must be original, eg. no fiction based upon pre-existing TV shows or characters
Editors retain the right to determine suitability for publication and to edit submissions as required
Contributors do not need to be members of Spaced Out, though preference will be given to members if needed
Contributors do not need to be Australian, or gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or intersex, although preference will be given to contributions that relate to these communities in some way.

We especially welcome original material from budding contributors who would like to see their name in print and to refine their skills through being published!

Please remember that Spaced Out is a non-profit club run by volunteers
and that no payment is possible for contributions -
your reward is the satisfaction of contributing to “the cause”
and seeing a job well done.

For further information, or to receive a contributor’s pro-forma,
please send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to
